What is Java?

Java is a computer programming language and an associated environment developed by Sun Microsystems Inc.  For further information refer to www.sun.com/java/

A particular advantage of Java is that programs written in this language will run on a variety of operating systems.

We consider Java to be suitable for developing some types of application programs including for genealogical purposes.

The Jultral Package

We have over a period of several years in parallel with developing Gendatam, developed a collection of java classes providing a base for building applications such as the Gendatam Suite. This collection includes implementations of the usual GUI objects as well as a variety of supporting objects.  The collection is known as the Jultral package.
